What matters in smart meters & iot
Decades without replacement
Utility meters are expected to run 10–20 years on one battery. Li-SOCl₂ cells self-discharge ≤1% per year at room temperature.
Pulse current for radios
NB-IoT, LoRa and wM-Bus modules transmit in short bursts. An ER cell paired with an SPC battery capacitor supplies the pulse without voltage delay.
Wide temperature range
Outdoor and underground meters face −40 °C winters and hot summers; EVE's Li-SOCl₂ range is specified from −55 °C to +85 °C.
